This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, protect, and retain personal and business information when you visit our websites (electrotechglobal.com and go.electrotechglobal.com), request a quotation, submit a bill of materials (BOM) or an inventory list, purchase products, communicate with our team, or use any of our services.

2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with ElectroTech, we may collect the following information.
Information you provide
- Full name, job title and company name
- Business email address and telephone number
- Billing and shipping addresses, country and region
- Your account manager’s name, if you provide it
- Purchase history, account information and tax information (where applicable)
Information submitted through our forms
- Quotation requests (RFQ): part numbers, quantities, requirements and any bill of materials (BOM) file you upload
- Excess inventory submissions: inventory descriptions, condition, location and any inventory list file you upload
- Contact and issue-report forms: the content of your message
- Your choice regarding marketing communications (consent status and date)
Uploaded files are used only to review and respond to your request and are treated as confidential business information.
Business contact information from other sources
Our business contact database may include information (such as name, job title, company, business email, telephone number and professional profile) obtained from:
- Existing business relationships and direct inquiries
- Publicly available company websites, professional profiles and business directories
- Third-party sources, including LinkedIn, where applicable
We use this information only in a business context, to identify companies that may be interested in our products and services and to contact them in accordance with Section 4 and applicable law. If you would like to know the source of your information or have it removed, please contact the person named in Section 1.
Technical information
When you visit our websites, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, language preference, pages visited, date and time of access, referring website, and the advertising campaign or link that brought you to our website.
3. How We Use Your Information
Information may be used to:
- Process quotation requests, BOMs and excess inventory submissions
- Fulfill customer orders, send order confirmations and shipping updates
- Verify customer identity and manage customer accounts
- Respond to inquiries and provide technical support
- Send automatic confirmation emails when you submit a form
- Send marketing communications, in accordance with Section 4
- Measure the performance of our website and advertising campaigns
- Detect fraud, spam or unauthorized activity
- Improve our products, services and website functionality
- Comply with legal obligations
We only collect information reasonably necessary for these purposes.
4. Marketing Communications
We send commercial electronic messages in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and other applicable laws. We send marketing emails only where:
- you have given us your express consent (for example, by ticking the consent box on one of our forms); or
- consent is implied under CASL, such as an existing business relationship, a recent inquiry or quotation request, or a business email address that has been conspicuously published or provided to us, where the message relates to your business role and no statement indicates that you do not wish to receive unsolicited messages.
Marketing emails may include product announcements, industry and supply-chain updates, new stock and inventory offers, promotional offers and company newsletters. Every marketing email identifies ElectroTech, includes our mailing address and contains an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribe requests are processed promptly and in any event within 10 business days.
Operational messages relating to your requests, quotations, active orders or customer support will continue to be sent as necessary.
5. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising Technologies
Our websites use cookies and similar technologies. When you first visit, a cookie banner allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies by category. Analytics and advertising cookies are only activated if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on our website, and you can also manage cookies through your browser settings.

Visitor identification. When you submit a form on our websites, the browsing activity recorded by HubSpot cookies on that device may be associated with your contact record so that our team understands which products and services interest you. This only applies if you have accepted analytics cookies.
We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google tags do not store analytics or advertising cookies unless you have given consent. Information about how Google uses data is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. Information Sharing
ElectroTech values your trust and does not sell personal information. We share information only when necessary with trusted service providers that help us operate our business, including:
- HubSpot, Inc. (customer relationship management, website forms, email and website analytics)
- Google LLC (Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads)
- LinkedIn Corporation (LinkedIn advertising and conversion measurement)
- Email and website hosting providers
- Shipping carriers, payment processors and banking institutions
- Legal and accounting advisors
Each provider is required to protect your information and use it only for authorized business purposes.
7. Storage and Transfer Outside Québec
As a global distributor, ElectroTech works with customers, suppliers and logistics partners in many countries. Some of our service providers, including HubSpot, Google and LinkedIn, store and process information outside Québec and Canada, mainly in the United States. Information may also be transferred internationally to process orders, coordinate shipments, source products, verify suppliers and comply with import and export regulations.
Before transferring personal information outside Québec, we assess whether it will receive adequate protection and use contractual and other safeguards. Information stored in another country may be accessible to authorities of that country under its laws.
8. Data Security
ElectroTech maintains administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, accidental disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse and cybersecurity threats. Access to our systems is limited to authorized personnel and protected by measures such as two-step verification. While no electronic system can guarantee absolute security, we continuously review and improve our security practices.
9. Payment Information
ElectroTech does not intentionally store complete payment card information unless required for authorized business purposes. Payments may be processed through secure financial institutions or approved payment service providers. Please do not send sensitive financial information through unsecured email.
10. Data Retention
Personal and business information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to complete transactions, provide customer support, meet legal and tax requirements, resolve disputes and maintain business records. ElectroTech applies the following retention guidelines:
- Business, accounting and tax records: retained for the periods required by applicable law, generally six (6) years for relevant tax records
- Sales leads and prospects: reviewed after 24 months of inactivity and deleted or anonymized when no longer necessary, unless retention is legally required
- Customer and supplier records: retained as necessary for business operations, legal obligations and compliance
These periods are internal policy guidelines and not universal legal retention periods. Actual retention may be longer or shorter where required by applicable law or by the nature of the relationship. When information is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your information where legally permitted
- Withdraw your consent, including consent to marketing emails
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your information
- Receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format (data portability)
- Obtain information about how your data is processed and where it was obtained
To exercise these rights, contact the person in charge of the protection of personal information (Section 1). We respond within 30 days, or within the time required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, for residents of the European Union or United Kingdom, your local data protection authority.
Visitors from the European Union and United Kingdom: we process personal information on the basis of your consent (analytics and advertising cookies, marketing emails), to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (quotations and RFQs), for our legitimate interests in operating and promoting our business, and to comply with legal obligations.
12. Children’s Privacy
ElectroTech’s websites and services are intended for business and commercial users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or from individuals below the age required to give valid consent under applicable law.
13. Third-Party Websites
Our websites may contain links to external websites operated by third parties. ElectroTech is not responsible for the privacy practices, security or content of those websites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
14. Regulatory Compliance
ElectroTech is committed to respecting applicable privacy legislation in the jurisdictions where we operate, including Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and, where applicable, the European Union and United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
15. Language
This Privacy Policy is available in French and English. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails for residents of Québec.

ElectroTech may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our business operations, technology, legal requirements or industry best practices. The current version, with its effective date, is always available on our website. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
